There’s an update in our English phonetic converter. Now for American English dialect we added an option to display transcription according to The American Heritage Dictionary phonetic spelling system.

The transcription obtained with our converter sometimes may be a bit different from the one given in the AHD dictionary itself. The reason is because we use our own custom database of pronunciations of English words in American English and convert the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) transcription to this new format using a special algorithm.
