Recently we conducted a survey among our visitors. The only question we asked was “Do you know the symbols of International Phonetic Alphabet?”
The result is that up to 60% of visitors don’t know IPA symbols.
To help you we created cheat sheets with IPA phonetic symbols for the following languages:
To access them you can either click on a question mark near “Convert to: International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)” or the green button the appears above the phonetic transcription of your text.
Note that we didn’t include some frequent phonemes in this charts, such as /m/, /n/, /t/, /d/. They are written in the same way as corresponding letters.
