Support for verbs in Italian phonetic translator

As you may know, for a very long time our Italian phonetic translator didn’t support the inflected verb forms.

Yesterday we released the first update that supports some inflected forms. We started with cases where the stress falls on the verb’s ending, such as “parliàmo”, “parlàte”, “capìsco”.

It’s pretty tedious work, since we need to manually check more than 3,000 rules in Italian hunspell dictionary. These rules allow to get an inflected form from its dictionary form.

So far we’ve covered about 70% of cases for regular Italian verbs of 1st, 2nd and 3rd conjugation.

In the near future we will continue to add more rules for regular verbs and will also start adding the support for irregular Italian verbs.
