Larger database for American English in English IPA converter

We expanded the database for American English in our IPA phonetic translator. Now it has much more personal names (including 3,300 first names). Another good news is that in some cases the algorithm of the phonetic translator performs faster than before. We will probably drop the support for CMU and Moby dictionaries.

Regional pricing for access to our pronunciation tools

We implemented regional pricing on EasyPronunciation.com. We realized that the price even of our cheapest language package is comparable to one-day salary in some countries. It is obviously not fair. We use GeoLite2 database to detect your country based on the IP address. We added another type of phonetic transcription in our English phonetic converter. Up until now the only supported transcription was Internation Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Now for American English you can select “Scholastic dictionary style transcription”. Now all our IPA phonetic translators are available as REST API. The pricing for phonetic transcription API is different from our regular language learning packages. This service is mainly for web and mobile app developers who want to add a new feature to their language learning site/app.
